Do you want to work close to healthcare operations and contribute to developing and securing the functionality of Region Sörmland's medical technology information systems? We are looking for a System Administrator with a focus on MIS (Medical Technology Information Systems) who also wants to help build the future digital support within medical technology.

The role initially focuses on medical technology information systems within clinical physiology, such as ECG, stress tests, spirometry, ultrasound, and EEG, but will eventually be able to cover more medical technology system areas, depending on the operations' needs and your competence development.

The position is primarily located at Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna, but placement in Nyköping may be possible. Please state your preferred location in your application.

About Us

MFT supports healthcare operations by ensuring that medical technology products, medical technology information systems, and associated information management function safely, securely, and efficiently. We are approximately 50 employees distributed across Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna, Nyköping Hospital, and Kullbergska Sjukhuset in Katrineholm.

With us, you get a workplace where technology and healthcare meet, and where you as a System Administrator have great opportunities to influence, develop, and shape both system administration and digital working methods together with the operations. We value engagement, collaboration, and responsibility. We strive to create a workplace where everyone thrives, respects each other, and is involved in the development of the operations.

Your Responsibilities

As a System Administrator for MIS, you are responsible for ensuring that the systems function stably, securely, and user-friendly for the clinics' needs. You work closely with both clinical operations and the Region's IT department to ensure that the systems are correctly configured, integrated, and adapted to healthcare needs. The work involves administration, development, and coordination.

Examples of tasks:

  • Responsible for the operation, function, and administration of medical technology information systems with associated medical technology products within clinical physiology and other medical technology areas.
  • Drive development, optimization, and improvements of systems and contribute to projects when introducing new solutions.
  • Ensure correct, secure, and efficient handling of medical technology data and robust integrations between medical technology products, medical technology information systems, and the Region's IT environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Region's IT department regarding operation, requirements, infrastructure, and technical solutions.
  • Educate and support users and contribute to routines, documentation, and regulatory compliance within system administration.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who are a university or civil engineer, systems scientist, or have another technical education relevant to the role. Preferably, you have experience from medical technology, healthcare environments, or technical system administration. You have good knowledge of Swedish and technical English.

We also place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We would like you to have:

  • A professional and respectful collaboration with colleagues and other professional groups, contributing to a safe and positive work environment, and explaining technology and systems in a pedagogical way to end-users.
  • Experience with medical technology information systems or related IT technology.
  • Basic knowledge of networks, databases, or integrations (e.g., HL7 or DICOM).
  • Interest in or experience with working with medical technology products and the regulations, quality requirements, and safety aspects surrounding them.
  • Interest in operation-close technical work where dialogue with healthcare staff is a natural part.
  • Ability to work systematically, take responsibility, and drive tasks independently.
  • Attention to detail and focus on operational security, patient safety, and documentation.
  • Stability and calm under time pressure, e.g., during system disruptions.
